NEXZ

NEXZ (넥스지) debuted in May 2024 as the product of Nizi Project Part 2, a survival competition produced jointly by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. The seven-member group—three Korean members alongside four Japanese—was built specifically for simultaneous bi-national market deployment, extending the framework JYP and Sony had tested with NiziU (an all-Japanese girl group) and applying it to a mixed-nationality boy group configuration. Their debut single "RIDE THE VIBE" introduced a group confident in high-energy dance-pop, with JYP's production fingerprint evident in the polished choreography and performance-first presentation. Unlike earlier cross-border K-pop acts that targeted Japan as a secondary market after establishing domestic success, NEXZ was architected from inception to treat Korea and Japan as equal primary markets—a structural decision that reflects how 5th generation agencies are rethinking the geography of debut strategy.
